A Letter from the Ford Wyoming Center

We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm for Wyoming Athletics as we head into various WHSAA State Championships at the Ford Wyoming Center. We understand that there may be some questions regarding the additional safety procedures and restrictions in place for this event compared to your usual weekly, local tournaments throughout the season. We'd like to take a moment to provide some clarity on this matter.

Ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants, spectators, and staff is our top priority. While local tournaments are vital for fostering community spirit and sportsmanship, the State Championships represent a larger-scale gathering with increased attendance and visibility. As such, certain precautions are necessary to uphold the highest standards of safety and security.

The Ford Wyoming Center, as the venue for the State Championships, is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all attendees. In alignment with national and local guidelines, as well as the venue's own safety protocols, additional measures have been implemented to mitigate potential risks and ensure a smooth and secure event experience.

These additional safety procedures and restrictions may include:

  • Bag checks or security screenings upon entry: To enhance security measures, all bags may be subject to inspection before entering the venue. This helps to prevent the unauthorized entry of prohibited items and ensures a safe environment for everyone.
  • Restrictions on certain items: While you may be accustomed to bringing certain items to local tournaments, such as large bags or outside food and drinks, please note that there may be restrictions on these items for the State Championships. These measures are in place to streamline entry procedures and minimize potential safety hazards.
  • Enhanced crowd management: With larger crowds expected at the State Championships, our team will be implementing enhanced crowd management strategies to facilitate smooth traffic flow, minimize congestion, and ensure the safety of all attendees.

We understand that these additional measures may require some adjustment, but please know that they are in place with the utmost consideration for everyone's safety and well-being. By working together and adhering to these guidelines, we can all contribute to a successful and enjoyable State Championships experience for athletes, spectators, and staff alike.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to welcoming you to the Ford Wyoming Center for an exciting and memorable event!
